If you aren't a German speaker, this card likely doesn't make sense to you. So let me explain... To say "Merry Christmas" auf Deutsch, you say "Frohe Weihnachten!" When my (German) husband and I visit his family, we often take a long walk to the wildlife refuge nearby to feed the wild pigs (wildschwein).
Simply put, I thought it would be amusing to smoosh the word wildschwein together with Weihnachten, and the result ended up being our Christmas card in 2017.
When I was little, my parents subscribed me to the National Wildlife Federation publication called Ranger Rick. At an early age, I developed a love for animals and all kinds of wildlife. Needless to say, it stole my heart.
